Fat Thursday in Poland

British people have Shrove Tuesday when they eat pancakes and in Poland we have Fat Thursday. It is the last Thursday before Ash Wednesday (this year it was on 3rd March) and on this day we eat a lot of fat and sweet doughnuts. It's a tradition to eat at least one doughnut on Fat Thursday, just for luck in the future. Even those who are on a diet eat a doughnut then.

At our school parents buy doughnuts for children and they eat the doughnuts together with their class teacher in the classroom. This is the only day of the school year when students can eat in the classroom during the lesson! :))
