HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, A DANISH STORY TELLER

From our city, Odense we have the famous Danish story-teller Hans Christian Andersen who was very famous for his fairytales, translated into many languages and sent world-wide.
He made "The Ugly Duckling" and many others. He died lonely without any family.
He got very famous after his death.

Many tourists go to see his bitrth place here and the big museum.
In the city centre a big statue is placed of him.
We´re very proud to have him here.

In Poland children read Andersen's fairytales at school in year 4. My son was in year 4 last school year, so I remember many of Andersen's tales now.

At our school in Poland a competition about Andersen's fairy tales takes place every year - students from year 4 take part in it.
