Fado

All the Portuguese people are very proud because Fado has become part of Unesco's World Heritage Cultural Patrimony. Fado (the word means destiny, fate) is a traditional music genre considered as "Lisbon's Song" but it symbolizes the entire country. It has been popularized all around the world by Amália Rodrigues (1920- 1999), one of the most famous Fado singers.
