Visite to an old vine cellar

The Wineries of Notary arise on the slopes of Mount Vulture, in the center of Rionero. The first winery, once housed a restaurant belonging to a well-known man rionerese later emigrated to America. Not far other caves, dating back to about 4 centuries ago, and belonged to the Franciscan monks, have been dug in the rock along a large imaginary horseshoe. Narrow tunnels connect the other ten wineries. The air filled with a heady scent,makes us imagine men and customs of the past. For the characteristic shape, the square outside, once witness and keeper of the life of the country, tended to collect rainwater as a sort of hollow or easy. The company Cellars Notary, certified company for Quality and Environment, according to UNI EN ISO 9001 and UNI EN ISO 14001, proudly carries the enhancement of the Aglianico of Vulture, typical wine of our country.
The " Cantine del Notaio" won a large number of prestigious awards , as the Oscar 2010 National Golden, for the highest number of DOC and D.O.C.G. awarded across all participating Italian companies, and rave reviews on the national newspapers .
