Easter in Italy

In Italy there are many tradition about Semana Santa and Easter. This is the way we celebrate Easter
PALM SUNDAY - blessed olive branches are brought into homes
THURSDAY - Dinner with different herbs and vegetables, bread or pizza without salt
HOLY FRIDAY - Friday is the holy day of fasting and abstinence (not eat meat) In many areas people visite tombs set in the churches. In some areas held sacred representation of the passion of Jesus, in others there are processions in honor of the Cross.
HOLY SATURDAY- are prepared-colored eggs, a symbol of resurrection, and other foods characteristic of the Passover.
SUNDAY OF RESURRECTION- There is Easter Lunch with lamb, various herbs, dove, chocolate eggs or other typical sweet. About Easter traditions very interesting is the Report made by a pupil of II D. The delivery date by doing was:
"With the help of your parents or your grandparents narrate other customs related to Easter Christian "My father said that when he was a child putted in a basket on the table eggs of all the colorie for a good omen. His mother made the dolls with biscuits and those were all covered with frosting and colorful candies. She prepared the Easter bread with fennel seed. She prepared the frisellini and many other specialties".

We celebrate Easter like you. We have Sunday Palm, Holy thursday, Holy Frida and Sunday of Resurrection. It is very similar. But, our sweets are different, because we don't make eggs. On Holy friday we don't eat meat.
