Celebrating Europe Day - Lousã School (Portugal)
On May, 9th we celebrated Europe Day at our school. Our colleagues from class 9Th A have done some research work about Croatia, so they organized an exhibition at our library with the help of their ICT teacher and of the European Club teacher. During the morning break they presented us a typical dance from Croatia, the music was performed by the Music teachers and students of the 5th and 6th grades.
At our Library another activity is also going on during this week – it is called “3 or more voices reading”: students, teachers and parents choose different texts to read aloud in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish or in other languages. This morning our colleagues from class 7thC – Rui, Tomás and Patrícia have read an excerpt of Chapter II of The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle – they have read it in English and in Portuguese.
Today, during the break teachers, students and Librarians could also taste a cake – a ”Europe Day Cake”, made by our Cookery club students and teachers, it was decorated with the stars of the European Flag and it was delicious!
